Ashley E. Fess invited to show art at the Syracuse Tech Garden

"Fresh," a collection of art by upper class students and faculty from the Division of Art and Design at Cazenovia College will be shown at the Syracuse Tech Garden, 235 Harrison Street, from Thursday, Oct. 21 through Friday, Jan. 28. The opening reception for the artists, slated for Oct. 21 from 5:30 to 7 p.m., is free and open to the public.

Ashley E. Fess, of Whitesboro, N.Y. is one of the students whose work will be displayed. Fess is working toward a bachelor of fine arts degree in interior design.

The show is presented in conjunction with Th3, (the third Thursday events) Syracuse's Citywide Arts Open Houses. Juniors and seniors from Cazenovia College's Art and Design Programs will exhibit their best works including paintings, drawings, photography, fashion constructions and sculpture.

Various media from the division's faculty will also be part of the exhibition. Neil Chowdhury, assistant professor, and director of the College's photography program; Jen Pepper, associate professor and director of the Cazenovia College Art Gallery; Josef Ritter, professor of interior design; Allyn Stewart, associate professor, visual communications; and Anita Welych, professor of art and director of the Art and Design foundation studies program.

The Tech Garden's mission is to stimulate high-tech entrepreneurship, foster the development of emerging growth companies, and support technology commercialization throughout the region. Start-up technology businesses are offered business plan assistance, mentoring and marketing advice, targeted referrals, networking opportunities and state-of-the-art office space from which to grow their businesses.
