Riley Battaglini Participated in Poster Design Contest

2010 May 12

Several Cazenovia College students were recognized by the College's Substance Abuse Task Force, sponsored by CAZ ACTION/Bridges, of Madison County, N.Y., for posters designed for the Cazenovia College Task Force's 2010 Alcohol Awareness Poster Contest. All were members of computer art classes taught by Daniel Canter and Andrea Trask, both adjunct visual communications instructors at the College.

Among the students who submitted posters that may be used by Bridges is Riley P. Battaglini, of Cicero, N.Y., who is majoring in visual communications.

Melissa Clarke, STOP ACT coordinator for CAZ ACTION/Bridges, and the group's liaison with Cazenovia College, says, "We appreciate all the students' hard work, which is invaluable to us. Many of the posters will be used for future promotions and events."

Idonas Hughes, associate dean for student development and coordinator for judicial affairs, is the campus representative for CAZ ACTION. "I attend the monthly meetings as our campus representative," he says. "We combine our efforts to address the issues of substance use and abuse, and plan campus programs for the National Alcohol Awareness Week in October and Alcohol Awareness Month each April. We are also concerned with other addictive behaviors like gambling."
